BillyBird Drakenrijk starts construction of indoor playground

BEESEL – BillyBird Drakenrijk started building the indoor playground in early March 2025. This is an important step in the BillyBird concept, which also includes indoor play. The indoor playground is expected to open in March 2026. The entrance to the indoor playground is included in a Drakenrijk ticket and can be visited by members all year round.

BillyBird is a chain of recreation parks where nature and recreation go hand in hand. BillyBird wants to realize the successful concept of BillyBird Hemelrijk in Volkel (Brabant) at BillyBird Drakenrijk in Beesel (Limburg). This means that visitors can be active and have fun in any weather. For example, guests can enjoy the beach pool in warm weather, play at the outdoor attractions in good weather and play indoors in bad weather.

Step by step, this is being worked towards at BillyBird Drakenrijk. At the moment, the park is mainly visited when the weather is nice for swimming and people can play in the outdoor playground and in the largest play castle in the Netherlands. Where in recent years, work has mainly been done on infrastructure and outdoor play facilities, such as the opening of the play castle, there will be a brand new indoor playground from next year.

The indoor playground, designed by AmusementProf, BillyBird's own design and production company, will be 2,200 square meters in size. In addition to the indoor playground, it will also include catering facilities with various terraces, the entrance and a souvenir shop with guest service. What exactly can be found in the indoor playground remains a surprise for now, but it will be fun, that's for sure. Children can enjoy themselves for hours on two floors. The eye-catcher will be in the middle of the hall. There is a fire-breathing dragon that sets the medieval village on fire. Children and their parents can extinguish that 'fire' together with real water cannons.

From 2026, the new indoor playground will offer many opportunities for BillyBird Drakenrijk. For example, visitors can book arrangements for children's parties and school trips including an indoor section in case of bad weather and Drakenrijk can be open to its visitors all year round.
