Dragon landed on Play Castle of BillyBird Park Dragon Kingdom

April 21, 2023
The time has come on Friday, April 21, when the dragon will be hoisted fifteen meters into the air. From that moment on, the dragon will be visible on top of the new play castle at BillyBird Park Drakenrijk in Beesel. The play castle will be located on the hill in the new Riddersheide play area. It will be the eye-catcher of BillyBird Park Drakenrijk and is clearly visible from the highway.
The designer, Joop van den Heuvel, has worked hard in recent weeks on finishing the dragon. The dragon has been given a green color and details and facial expressions have been added. The dragon was created from large blocks of polyurethane foam, which were sawn to exact size and shape. The dragon was then assembled on location from separate pieces.
The municipality of Beesel is known as the Dragon Village. The Dragon Stitching tradition has been taking place here for about 300 years. Every seven years, Beesel is dedicated to this ancient legend. Dragon stabbing will also take place this year. The dragon is a reference to the municipality of Beesel.
Once the dragon is in place, the final touches are made to the play castle. Visitors will soon be able to discover all kinds of things in the play castle. The castle contains several slides and rooms. With lighting and smoke effects, BillyBird will soon provide a fully themed playground equipment, which of course also includes music.
For the first time, BillyBird collaborates with music producer EVRST MUSIC. The soundtrack will bring the Medieval theme to life and make it complete. From April 30, visitors can come and admire the play castle and the new Riddersheide play area for themselves.
